Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) is an organization established in 1988 by the Government of Kerala for advancement of research and development, production and training, in imaging, information and security-related technologies.  The uniqueness of C-DIT is its rare combination of human resources, a talented pool of creative personnel co-existing with technological work force. Over the past 20 years of its existence, C-DIT has successfully realized various prestigious projects on behalf of the Government of India and the Government of Kerala.  C-DIT has evolved as a centre of convergence over years, currently offering a plethora of services to various clients across diverse practice areas.

STRENGTH

C-DIT is the one and only public sector undertaking owning security hologram production facility in the country.  With its in-house R&D and production facilities, C-DIT produces 48 crore security holograms per annum for Kerala State Beverages Corporation, Motor Vehicles Department and other public and private sector organizations across the country to prevent counterfeiting and forgery.      C-DIT has also been entrusted by major Universities in the country to design and develop new-generation, high-security certificates with holographic and other high-end security features.

 

Presently, C-DIT has undertaken a number of security holographic production, high-security printing and e-documentation projects for various government departments viz. high-security excise import/transport permit card for the Department of Excise and digital archiving and documentation for the Registration Department.  Further, Kerala Lottery Department has approached C-DIT to provide anti-counterfeiting solutions to prevent any forgery fraudulence.  A proposal has been placed by C-DIT to State Poverty Eradication Mission for the development of biometric database to prevent duplication of applications. The proposed project utilizes Biometric Technologies covering over 5 million beneficiaries. C-DIT have also proposed to the  State government has proposed fixing tamper-proof number plates on all sea-going vessels, chiefly fishing boats, registered in Kerala. C-DIT envisages being a total anti-counterfeiting solutions provider.

 

Further, on the wake of miscreants using the sea route to carry out terrorist and criminal activities, the government is now hard-pressed to implement stringent coastguard security and secure identification of sea-going vessels.  As instructed by the Fisheries Department, C-DIT has come up with an innovative solution of implementing high-security holographic number plates to prevent unprecedented utilization of sea-going vessels.   

 

It will be fixed on boats only on premises notified by the Fisheries Department, the registering authority.
